He also shared the mugshot on the platform.

Trump argues the cases against him are politically motivated because he is leading the Republican race to challenge President Joe Biden, a Democrat, in next years presidential election, BBC reported.

On Thursday, the former President made a round trip from New Jersey in his private jet to be booked in Fulton County Jail.

He remained inside the facility was 20 minutes.

Several of his supporters had assembled outside the facility.

Trump faces 13 criminal charges related to allegedly attempting to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in Georgia, including violation of the Georgia RICO Act, solicitation of violation of oat by public officer, false statements and writings, forgery, among others.

The Georgia racketeering scheme charge alone carries a prison sentence of up to 20 years.

The person could also face a fine of up to $250,000 or double the amount of proceeds earned from illicit activity, according to the statute.
