Must Read

Union Minister for Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has said that tourism in Kashmir is showing clear signs of revival following the April 22 terror incident in Baisaran village, Pahalgam. He said the coordinated efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir administration and the Central Government have led to the rebuilding of public confidence. Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the National Tourism Secretaries’ Conference at Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar, the Minister said that the robust initiatives of the J&K government, supported by the Centre, are helping restore trust among travelers and tourism stakeholders. He added that the current Conference has been organised to bring tourism secretaries from across the country to Kashmir to enable these officials to carry the message of safety back to their respective states. He said, this will help in boosting domestic tourism and work towards the Prime Minister’s vision of developing at least 50 iconic destinations across India, including Kashmir.

Our correspondent reports, the conference is focusing on key national-level policy areas like tourism-related budget announcements for 2025-26, destination development and infrastructure initiatives, among others.
