2 students killed as school van hit by train at unmanned crossing –

Two students from the same family were killed this morning when a school van was hit by a train at an unmanned level crossing in Semmankuppam, Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu.
 
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has expressed his condolences and announced compensation. He has announced 5 lakh  Rupees for the family of the deceased, 1 lakh Rupees for those seriously injured, and ₹50,000 for others who were wounded.
 
The injured have been admitted to JIPMER Hospital in Puducherry for treatment. The gatekeeper has been temporarily suspended. An inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
