Serious resentment is brewing among the unemployed youths who had appeared for the Group-C and Group-D posts conducted by Joint Recruitment Board, Tripura (JRBT) a year ago. The results of the examinations were not announced as yet for some unexplained reasons.
“We do not understand why the government is sitting on the JRBT results for so long. Is there anything fishy happened ? asked one of the youths who had appeared for the JRBT examinations. He suspected that the unusual delay in JRBT results announcement might have some links with the government decisions to allow the youths from out side of the state to appear at the examinations.
“The decision to allow the outsiders to appear for such state level examinations – for Group D or Group C—which are not usually done by any state government- did raise many questions and many smelt a rat behind the decision at that time. After examinations it may so happen that the outsiders were found to be taking away most of the jobs under the JRBT which did put the government in a catch 22 position now. That’s why the results were not being declared”, said a youth suspecting that the government might cancel the whole exercise anytime , or put the file in the backburner till the elections were over.
“Whatever is the reason , there is something indeed fishy”, he said.
One year ago, the JRBT had conducted the examination for 2,410 posts for Group-C and 2,500 for Group-D
Though there had been a stay imposed by the High Court of Tripura on the publication of results for a period of six week based on a petition, it was later vacated by an interim order.
The job aspirants under the banner of Unemployed Youth Forum, tried to meet the JRBT officials as well as the Chief Minister and others to know about the latest status of the recruitment process. But nothing was forthcoming as all either avoided them or glossed over the moot question.
‘The state government is recruiting in other posts including teachers but maintaining a conspicuous silence in case of JRBT results’, a group of aspirants said.
The Unemployed Youth Forum said, there were total 55,675 applicants including 3682 candidates from other states and 2549 ad-hoc teachers for Group-D posts. Among them, 40,257 candidates including 652 from other states and 2207 ad-hoc teachers appeared in the examination.
The forum said, the total number of applicants for Group-C posts was 1,04,238 (Paper- I and II) including 3788 candidates from other states and 6096 ad-hoc teachers. Among them, 81278 candidates including 5408 ad-hoc teachers and 544 candidates from other states appeared in the examination..
