Two Ukrainians- Chrisinsky Volodimir, 39 and Nazari Voznyuk, 21- were arrested by GRP in Assam when they were traveling from Agartala to New Delhi.

Police sources said they were picked up from Agartala-New Delhi (Anand Vihar) Tripura Sundari Express train on Thursday night.

They were arrested from Badarpur railway station.

Tripura police was not aware of their presence in the state but senior officers on condition of anonymity said, they might have entered Tripura from Bangladesh. None of them had proper passports or other legal documents. Evidently they entered India illegally, and most likely from Bangladesh. It was also not ruled out that they might have also come from Mizoram where they had come from Myanmar.

“Yes, we have come to know about the arrest of the two Ukrainians and we are trying to contact Assam police for details. Only after proper investigation and interrogation their intrusion route and purpose would be known”, said the police officer.

However, till now it was known that both Chrisinsky Volodimir, 39 and Nazari Voznyuk had left Ukraine before the Russian invasion.

At present they are lodged in Karimganj police station.

Sources from Assam said Assam Police had already contacted Ukrainian embassy in New Delhi to get the details of Chrisinsky Volodimir, 39 and Nazari Voznyuk.
