Two more colleges of the state have received B-Grade recognition of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), said Education minister Ratanlal Nath in a press conference on Tuesday. The two colleges are- Amarpur General Degree College and Gandacherra General Degree Colleges.

Nath has said, total 12 Colleges of the state have received NAAC recognition over the past three years whereas only 8 colleges had received the recognition in 25-year-long Left regime.

Expressing hope, the Education minister has said, two more colleges- L.T Valley and Santirbazar are going to earn the NAAC recognition in the next five to six months.

Besides, recognition has been received from the National Board of Accreditation for academic activities in Electrical Engineering department of Tripura Engineering College, he said.

According to Nath, Tripura Engineering College has five branches including Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering and Civil Engineering. In 2019, the college had already received NBC recognition for Mechanical, Electronics and Communication and Computer Science and Engineering.

Speaking to the media, Nath announced that M.Tech course in Electrical Engineering would be introduced at Tripura Engineering College from this year. He said, the college is offering M.Tech in Mechanical, Electronics and Computer Science.
