If everything goes as planned the Agartala Municipal Corporation, 13 Municipal Councils and six Nagar Panchayat elections are likely to be held in November end. There are 20 Urban Local Bodies (ULB) in the state. The elections to the civic bodies are being held after almost one year due to Covid 19 pandemic outbreak. The elections were due in last December. The civic bodies are presently run by administrators.
Official sources said, state government is prepared to hold the polls and the council of ministers will givethe go ahead for the polls after Durga Puja. Immediately a notification in this regard will be issued by the State Election Commission (SEC).
