Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous Distrcit Council authorities will give Rs 5,000 as monthly allowance to community elders ( Samajpati) in the council areas. A total of 31 samajpati will be listed for the allowances, said Chief Executive Member of the TTAADC Purnachandra Jamatia.
This decision was taken to honour each and eevry indigenous community of the state, Jamatia said in TTAADC headquarters Khumulwng on Saturday.
TIPRA Motha chairman Pradyot Kishore Debbarman in another programme said, there are 51students belonging to indigenous communities at present pursuing Bed in several institutions outside the state as state government’s nominee. He said though the state government’s Tribal Welfare department cleared their fees for 1st and 2nd years for 3rd and 4th years the fees were not paid yet, which caused problems for the students. He asked the state government to clear the pending fees immediately.
