A delegation of Trinamool Congress came under attack in Ambassa , Dhalai district on Saturday. The Trinamool Congress alleged that BJP workers attacked them in front of police. At least two persons including a TMC leader Jaya Datta sustained injuries in the assault.
The delegation which included among other TMC spokesman Debangshu Bhattacharjee had gone to Ambassa to organize political events when their car was waylaid by a mob. They mob damaged the vehicle windows and a flying glass hit Jaya Datta.
After the incident Debangshu Bhattacharjee and others sat on a dharna for a while.
Situation is now well under control, police said.
