Tripura Agriculture Minister Ratanlal Nath inaugurated the state-level Orange Festival at Uttar Baramura under the Killa Agriculture sub-division in Udaipur on Saturday, celebrating the region’s agricultural success.
Originally launched in Jampui Hills, the festival has now gained popularity across the state, expanding to areas like Jampuijala and Killa. Nath highlighted the premium quality of the region’s oranges, which, alongside the renowned Queen Pineapple, has attracted attention for their exceptional flavor and market potential. The event brought together key figures, including MLAs Rampada Jamatia, Ranjit Das, Jitendra Majumdar, Pathanlal Jamatia, Abhishek Debroy, and TTAADC Chief Executive Member Purna Chandra Jamatia, among other dignitaries.
Minister Nath shared his vision of Baramura Hills becoming recognized as the next “Orange Hills,” following discussions with local farmers about elevating Tripura’s position in citrus fruit cultivation.
