Tripura which has, of late, attached unprecedented importance to bamboo related products and its global marketing will hold a two day programme on India Edition of World Bamboo Day 2021 on September 18 and 19 next. Tripura Bamboo Mission Director, Tarit Kanti Chakma in a tweet said PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) will be event partner and the programmes will be attended by as many as 20 states and also by international participants. The idea for organizing the World Bamboo Day 2021 is to promote the bamboo products globally with special emphasis being on North East India bamboo. Tripura itself produces about 21 species of bamboo and about 3,246 sq. Kms area of forest and planned forest come under bamboo cultivation.

Of later, Tripura’s bamboo made products like flasks and other utensils have made a foray into the global market for their utilities, environment friendly production and exquisite look. According officials, Tripura Bamboo Mission will make a contribution of Rs 40 lakh as event partner for 12th World Bamboo Day Celebration.
