In a late-night operation on Friday, Tripura Police conducted a surprise raid at Hotel Woodland Park in Agartala, arresting three individuals and seizing 1,10,000 Yaba tablets worth ₹5.5 crore.
Superintendent of Police (West) Kiran Kumar said the raid, led by SDPO Debaprashad Roy and Officer-in-Charge Rana Chatterjee, was based on intelligence inputs. The kingpin, Sahidul Hussain Talukdar of Silchar, along with accomplices Nayanmani Namasudra and Biswajit Biswas, was caught with 11 packets of contraband hidden in a trolley bag.
Authorities are investigating further links and the consignment’s intended destination. The arrested individuals will be presented in court, with police seeking custody for interrogation.
