Tripura woman Mousumi Saha receives Rs 3 lakh PMNRF assistance for kidney transplant after intervention by MP Biplab Kumar Deb. Former Chief Minister thanks Prime Minister Narendra Modi for timely medical support, highlighting the Centre’s compassionate approach toward citizens facing critical health challenges and advanced treatment needs.
Member of Parliament and former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for approving financial assistance of Rs 3 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund for the kidney transplant of a woman from Tripura.
According to Deb, Mousumi Saha, a resident of Jogendranagar in Agartala, was granted the financial aid to support her advanced medical treatment and kidney transplantation. He stated that the matter was brought to his attention by the patient’s family, following which he immediately forwarded the application to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund for consideration.
Deb said the request was processed and approved within a short period, providing much-needed relief to the patient and her family during a difficult phase of treatment. The assistance, he noted, would help meet a portion of the substantial expenses associated with kidney transplantation and related medical care.
In a social media post, the former Chief Minister thanked Prime Minister Modi for extending timely support to a citizen facing a serious health crisis. He described the approval as an example of the Central government’s compassionate approach toward individuals requiring critical medical treatment.
“I express my heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji for approving Rs 3 lakh from PMNRF for the kidney transplantation and advanced treatment of Mousumi Saha of Jogendranagar, Agartala,” Deb said.
The MP further observed that several requests submitted through him in the past for financial assistance related to advanced medical treatment had also received positive consideration from the Prime Minister’s office. According to Deb, nearly all such applications forwarded through him were approved with promptness and empathy.
He said the continued support reflects the Centre’s commitment to ensuring that citizens battling severe illnesses are not left alone during medical emergencies. Access to life-saving treatment, he added, remains a significant concern for many families, and timely financial assistance can make a crucial difference.
