The Tripura Global Pineapple Festival 2026 concluded successfully with awards for TFDPC, RNJ Agri-Clinic, NERAMAC and TRLM. GI-tagged Queen Pineapple farmers received recognition, while exhibitions, buyer-seller meetings and cultural programmes strengthened Tripura’s pineapple industry, exports, branding and investment opportunities.
The three-day Tripura Global Pineapple Festival 2026 concluded on a grand and festive note, marking another significant milestone in the state’s efforts to promote its globally renowned GI-tagged Queen Pineapple. The final day witnessed the participation of several distinguished guests, recognition of outstanding contributors to the pineapple sector, and overwhelming enthusiasm from farmers, entrepreneurs, exhibitors and visitors.
The closing ceremony reflected Tripura’s growing prominence in India’s horticulture sector, highlighting the state’s commitment to strengthening pineapple cultivation, value addition, branding, exports and market linkages. Throughout the festival, thousands of visitors explored exhibition stalls showcasing pineapple-based products, modern farming technologies, agribusiness innovations and government initiatives supporting the agricultural community.

Among the distinguished dignitaries present on the concluding day were Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, West Bengal Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development Dilip Ghosh, B. L. Santhosh, and Sunil Deodhar. The leaders toured various exhibition stalls, interacted with pineapple growers, entrepreneurs, self-help groups and exhibitors, and appreciated the efforts being made to transform Tripura’s pineapple sector into a globally competitive industry.
A major attraction of the closing ceremony was the presentation of awards recognising excellence among participating exhibitors. In the government stall category, the First Prize was jointly awarded to the Tripura Forest Development & Plantation Corporation (TFDPC) and RNJ Agri-Clinic and Agribusiness Pvt. Ltd. for their outstanding displays and contribution towards promoting pineapple cultivation and value-added products.
The Second Prize was presented to the North Eastern Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation (NERAMAC), while the Third Prize was awarded to the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) for effectively showcasing initiatives that support farmers, rural livelihoods and agricultural entrepreneurship.
Another significant highlight of the event was the presentation of the Geographical Indication (GI) Tag Certificate for Tripura’s famous Queen Pineapple to a farmer. Along with the prestigious certificate, the recipient received a cash award of Rs 25,000, recognising dedication towards maintaining the quality and authenticity of the GI-tagged fruit.
The festival also honoured two progressive cultivators with the Best Pineapple Grower Award. Each awardee received Rs 25,000 in recognition of their exceptional contribution to pineapple cultivation, adoption of improved farming practices and commitment to producing premium-quality Queen Pineapple.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, organisers distributed free Queen Pineapples among visitors, allowing thousands of people to experience the unique sweetness, aroma and quality that have made Tripura’s Queen Pineapple one of India’s most sought-after fruits. The initiative generated excitement among visitors while further promoting awareness of the state’s GI-tagged agricultural product.
Over the course of three days, the Tripura Global Pineapple Festival 2026 emerged as an important platform connecting farmers, buyers, exporters, entrepreneurs, government agencies and investors. The event featured buyer-seller meets, business networking sessions, exhibitions, cultural performances and discussions focused on expanding domestic and international markets for Tripura’s premium pineapples.
