Heavy rainfall has triggered flooding across Tripura, including West Tripura district, prompting MP Biplab Kumar Deb to urge swift rescue, relief and administrative assistance. Deb said he spoke with officials to ensure affected residents receive timely support and appealed to people to remain alert, cautious and safe during the ongoing crisis.
Heavy rainfall has triggered flooding in several parts of Tripura, including West Tripura district, leaving residents in affected areas facing waterlogging and disruption to normal life. Amid the worsening situation, Member of Parliament and former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has urged the authorities to ensure prompt rescue operations, relief distribution and all necessary administrative assistance for people affected by the flooding.
In a message shared on social media on Sunday, Deb said he had spoken with the concerned authorities regarding the situation in the flood-affected areas. He stressed the need to ensure that rescue operations, relief measures and administrative support reach people in distress without delay.
The former Chief Minister said the administration is working actively and with urgency to deal with the situation and provide assistance to affected residents. He also called for close coordination between the administration and those working on the ground so that necessary support can reach vulnerable communities as quickly as possible.
The heavy rainfall has resulted in flooding and waterlogging in different parts of the state, particularly affecting areas vulnerable to rising water levels. The situation has raised concerns among residents as continuous rainfall can further aggravate flooding and make movement difficult in affected locations.
Deb appealed to people in the affected areas to remain alert and take necessary precautions during the adverse weather conditions. He urged residents to maintain close communication with the administration and follow official instructions to ensure their safety.
“Standing beside the affected people and ensuring that relief and necessary assistance reach them quickly is essential during this difficult situation,” Deb said in his message, emphasizing the importance of coordinated efforts during the disaster.
The MP further called upon the concerned authorities to remain vigilant and ensure that people facing difficulties receive appropriate assistance. He stressed that rescue, relief and administrative measures must continue with urgency until the situation improves.
The flooding comes as Tripura experiences intense rainfall, affecting several areas across the state. Waterlogging and flooding can disrupt transportation, daily activities and access to essential services, particularly in low-lying and vulnerable locations.
Deb also urged residents to exercise caution rather than taking unnecessary risks in flood-affected areas. People have been advised to stay informed about developments and remain in contact with local administrative officials for guidance and assistance.
The situation remains dependent on weather conditions, with further rainfall potentially increasing water levels in vulnerable areas. Authorities are expected to continue monitoring the situation and responding to the needs of affected residents.
