Tripura dentist Dr Debalina Baidya has earned two prestigious gold medals in the MDS Examination 2025 conducted by Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Memorial Health Sciences and Ayush University, Chhattisgarh. She secured the highest aggregate marks in Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, bringing pride to Tripura and Unakoti district.
In a remarkable academic achievement that has brought pride to Tripura, Dr Debalina Baidya has been awarded two prestigious gold medals for her outstanding performance in the Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) Examination 2025 conducted by Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Memorial Health Sciences and Ayush University, Chhattisgarh.
According to official university records, Dr Baidya secured the coveted University Gold Medal after obtaining the highest aggregate marks among 231 postgraduate students who appeared in the MDS Examination 2025. She achieved this distinction in the discipline of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, emerging as the top-performing candidate in her field.
Adding another feather to her cap, Dr Baidya was also honoured with the Donor Gold Medal for securing the highest aggregate marks in Pedodontics in the same examination. The university merit list revealed that she topped the speciality ranking with an impressive score of 537 marks, placing first among the top five students in the discipline.
The awards were presented during the fourth convocation ceremony of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Memorial Health Sciences and Ayush University held in Raipur on June 5. The grand event was attended by several distinguished dignitaries, including Chhattisgarh Governor Ramen Deka, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Health and Family Welfare Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, along with senior officials and academic leaders.
Dr Baidya’s exceptional accomplishment has been widely appreciated by the people of Tripura, particularly in her native Unakoti district. Her success reflects dedication, academic excellence and perseverance, serving as an inspiration for aspiring medical and dental professionals across the state.
She is the daughter of Parimal Baidya, former headmaster of Kumarghat Girls Higher Secondary School, and Khuku Rani Biswas, a former teacher of Fatikroy Higher Secondary School. The family belongs to Rajnagar Chabri Chowmani in Tripura’s Unakoti district.
