Tripura CM Manik Saha reviews Diwali preparations at Matabari in Udaipur, directing officials to complete road repairs, improve Kalyan Sagar and Amarsagar surroundings, and ensure better facilities, infrastructure, coordination and a hassle-free experience for devotees during the festival.

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday reviewed preparations for the upcoming Diwali festival at the Mata Tripurasundari Temple in Matabari, Udaipur, and directed officials to ensure comprehensive arrangements for devotees and visitors.

The Chief Minister first visited Matabari and subsequently held a meeting with officials at the Udaipur Circuit House to assess development works and preparations for the annual Diwali festival and fair. The meeting of the Mata Tripurasundari Temple Trust focused on infrastructure, beautification, pilgrim facilities and coordinated arrangements ahead of the major festival.

During the meeting, Dr. Saha stressed the need to make the annual Diwali festival more attractive while ensuring that devotees have adequate facilities and a hassle-free experience. He directed the concerned departments and organisers to work in coordination and complete all necessary preparations within the stipulated period.

A major focus of the meeting was road connectivity to the temple. The Chief Minister instructed the concerned authorities to complete repair and renovation works on roads leading to the temple area before the commencement of the Diwali celebrations. The direction assumes significance as a large number of pilgrims and visitors are expected to travel to Matabari during the festival.

The Chief Minister further directed officials to regularly monitor the progress of development and infrastructure works being undertaken in connection with the festival. He emphasised that timely monitoring would help identify issues and ensure that the required works are completed before the arrival of visitors.

Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Gomati Zilla Sabhadhipati Debal Debroy, MLA Abhishek Debroy, Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, Chief Minister’s Secretary Kiran Gitte and secretaries of various departments attended the meeting. Their participation highlighted the need for coordination among different departments involved in preparations for the festival.

The Mata Tripurasundari Temple, popularly known as Matabari, is located in Udaipur in Gomati district and is one of Tripura’s major religious and pilgrimage destinations. Government tourism information notes that the temple attracts a large number of pilgrims, with a prominent Diwali fair held annually around the shrine. In his directions, Dr. Saha emphasised the importance of sincerity and coordinated efforts by all concerned departments to ensure that the Diwali festival and fair are organised smoothly. Officials were asked to focus on necessary infrastructure, visitor facilities and the overall management of the temple area.
