Tripura CM Dr. Manik Saha reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening school education through quality learning, improved infrastructure, model school development, and teacher recruitment. During his Bardowali Higher Secondary School visit, he reviewed facilities and assured timely action on students’ concerns.
Reaffirming the state government’s commitment to improving the education sector, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday said that a series of initiatives are being undertaken to further strengthen the school education system across the state. The Chief Minister emphasized that providing quality education in government and government-aided schools remains one of the government’s highest priorities.
During his visit to Bardowali Higher Secondary School in Agartala, Dr. Saha inspected various sections of the institution and reviewed the existing academic and infrastructural facilities. The visit formed part of the government’s continued efforts to ensure that educational institutions maintain a high standard of teaching while providing a safe, clean, and student-friendly environment.
Speaking to teachers and officials present at the school, the Chief Minister highlighted that quality education cannot be achieved without a positive learning atmosphere. He said the government is making continuous efforts to improve both academic standards and the physical infrastructure of schools throughout the state.
Dr. Saha noted that teachers play a crucial role in shaping the future of students and stressed the importance of their dedication in delivering quality education. He said the collective efforts of teachers, school authorities, and government officials are essential for building a stronger education system capable of meeting future challenges.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister interacted with teachers and education department officials to assess the school’s overall functioning. He also directed the concerned authorities to take the necessary steps to develop Bardowali Higher Secondary School into a model school, ensuring better facilities and improved educational standards for students.
One of the important issues highlighted during the visit was raised by the school’s headmistress regarding students having to stand under the scorching sun during the morning assembly and prayer sessions. Acknowledging the concern, Dr. Saha assured that the government would take prompt measures to resolve the issue and provide a suitable arrangement to protect students from extreme weather conditions.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the state government remains committed to creating a healthy, clean, and conducive educational environment in all government and government-aided schools. According to him, education is the foundation of a progressive society, and continuous improvements in school infrastructure and teaching standards will contribute significantly to students’ overall development.
Accompanying the Chief Minister during the visit were Director of School Education Samit Roy Chowdhury, West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar, along with senior officials from the School Education Department.
Responding to media queries after the inspection, Dr. Saha also addressed the issue of teacher recruitment. He stated that the government would initiate recruitment of TET-qualified teachers by maintaining a balance between available vacancies and the state’s financial position. He assured aspiring teachers that there is no reason for concern, as the government has been recruiting teachers almost every year and will continue to strengthen the education sector through regular appointments.

The Chief Minister further said that the government’s vision is to ensure every child receives quality education in an environment that encourages learning, innovation, and holistic development. He reaffirmed that all necessary administrative measures would continue to be taken to modernize schools, improve educational facilities, and build institutions that serve as models of excellence for the entire state.
