Tripura CM Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated new Agartala Municipal Corporation civic initiatives, emphasizing technology-driven public services, balanced urban-rural development, improved sanitation, and citizen-friendly governance to enhance quality of life while transforming Agartala into a clean, green, and smart city.

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday reaffirmed that the state government’s foremost priority is to improve the quality of life of every citizen by ensuring modern, technology-driven, transparent, and easily accessible civic services. Speaking at the inauguration of several development projects and citizen-centric initiatives launched by the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) at Swami Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala, the Chief Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to building a cleaner, greener, healthier, and technologically advanced capital city.

Addressing a gathering of public representatives, municipal officials, and citizens, Dr. Saha said that the overall progress of Tripura depends on balanced development across both urban and rural areas. He emphasized that the government is working to preserve the state’s rich heritage and cultural identity while simultaneously embracing modern technology to improve governance and public service delivery.

“The government’s objective is to provide efficient, transparent, and citizen-friendly services through the effective use of technology. At the same time, we remain committed to safeguarding Tripura’s cultural heritage while ensuring sustainable development,” the Chief Minister said.

Dr. Saha noted that the state government has initiated several projects aimed at transforming Agartala into a model city equipped with better civic infrastructure, improved sanitation, and digital governance systems. According to him, the real measure of development lies in the extent to which ordinary citizens experience positive changes in their daily lives.

“Development can be considered successful only when people themselves experience and acknowledge improvements in their everyday lives,” he remarked, adding that every government initiative should ultimately benefit the common people.

Reiterating the government’s commitment to public welfare, the Chief Minister said that the administration is working relentlessly to accelerate development across Tripura. He also criticized opposition parties, alleging that while the government remains focused on developmental activities and public welfare, the opposition is more engaged in criticism than constructive contributions.

Dr. Saha also called upon corporators and elected representatives to remain dedicated to public service. He stressed that public trust cannot be earned merely through promises but through sincerity, dedication, and consistent efforts to address people’s concerns. He urged all representatives to stay connected with citizens and actively resolve local issues.

During the programme, the Agartala Municipal Corporation unveiled several new citizen-focused initiatives aimed at improving urban management and public health. These included the launch of the “Sabuj Sena Amar Agartala” mobile application, designed to encourage public participation in maintaining cleanliness and environmental sustainability across the city.

The AMC also launched a comprehensive Mosquito-Free Campaign to strengthen preventive measures against mosquito-borne diseases. Additionally, 51 three-wheeler waste collection vehicles were flagged off to enhance door-to-door garbage collection, improve sanitation services, and strengthen the city’s waste management system.
