Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha graced an International Conference on Dam Safety held in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Thursday. The event saw the participation of several esteemed dignitaries, including Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Union Minister for Jal Shakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.

Organized by the Department of Water Resources, River Development, and Ganga Rejuvenation (DoWR, RD &GR), Ministry of Jal Shakti, the conference brought together leading global experts and leaders in the field of dam safety. Their objective was to collaborate and enhance capacities to ensure the safety of dams worldwide.

In a notable development, Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar inaugurated the vinyl-wrapped Kamakhya Express from Varanasi station through a video conferencing ceremony. This initiative is part of the ‘Pani Ki Rail’ program under the National Water Mission. Two trains, namely the Himsagar Express and Kamakhya Express, have been adorned with vinyl wraps in collaboration with the Ministry of Railways. These trains will act as mobile billboards, conveying crucial messages related to water conservation, river rejuvenation, and the importance of clean drinking water and sanitation as they traverse across the nation.

During the event, the Vice-President also unveiled the National Register of Large Dams, a comprehensive compilation of large dams in the country, prepared in consultation with the respective State Governments and authorities.

Simultaneously, Chief Minister Dr.  Saha addressed entrepreneurs at an event organized by the Federation of Rajasthan Trade and Industries (FORTI). He highlighted the immense potential in Rajasthan’s tourism sector and extended an invitation to local entrepreneurs to invest in various sectors in Tripura, including Education, Health, Tourism, Real Estate, Hotel, Rubber, and Bamboo.

The gathering witnessed the participation of around 50-60 local businessmen and investors, some of whom expressed their keen interest in exploring business opportunities in Tripura. This exchange of ideas and possibilities reflects a positive step towards strengthening economic ties and fostering development between Rajasthan and Tripura.
