
The Sixth Schedule Day was marked with various programs and events throughout the state, reflecting the significance of this special occasion. A ceremony was held at the Nuai Auditorium in Khumulwng, attended by prominent figures including Chairman of the TTAADC (Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council) Jagadish Debbarma, CEM (Chief Executive Member) Purnachandra Jamatia, and other distinguished guests.
In his address, Chairman Jagadish Debbarma extended his warm wishes to the people of the state. He emphasized the importance of unity and peace in collaborating on developmental activities. Debbarma urged the cooperation of all citizens in the pursuit of these goals.
Various political parties and organizations also organized programs in districts and sub-divisions across the state to commemorate this occasion.
In Teliamura, ADC Day was celebrated with due respect and enthusiasm. As part of the festivities, the Teliamura Block Congress hoisted its party flag in front of the statue of Indira Gandhi. Former MLA Ashok Kumar Baidya and other local Congress leaders participated in the event. Baidya highlighted the significance of ADC Day and credited the Congress party for the establishment of the Autonomous District Council.
Khowai District Congress president Shabda Kumar Jamatia led efforts to energize the Congress party in Lakshicharan Para, a Janajati (indigenous people) area under Kalyanpur police station. During the event, he underscored the role of the Congress party in the development of Janajati communities.
The 39th ADC Foundation Day celebration was organized by TIPRA Motha Party (TMP) supporters in Chechua market under the Ampi Nagar RD block in Gomati Tripura. Addressing the gathering, TMP leader Mever Kumar Jamatia expressed that despite the establishment of ADC in 1984, indigenous communities still faced challenges. He stressed the need for unity among indigenous people with TMP for the development of TTAADC areas. Notable leaders including Ampi MLA Pathanlal Jamatia and Amar Pur political district committee secretary Debraj Jamatia were present during the event.
The celebration of the Sixth Schedule Day reflects the commitment of various political parties and organizations to honor and recognize the significance of this important aspect of Tripura’s governance and the empowerment of tribal communities.
