Tripura has been adjudged as the Best Hilly and North Eastern State’ in Fisheries . The laurel is given by the National Fishery Development Board, Hyderabad.
In a letter to the state government the NFDB said, the award will be given in a programme at Bhubaneswar on November 27- which is the World Fisheries Day. The state will get Rs. 10 lakh as prize money, a certificate and memnto.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb in a tweet said his government is committed to make Tripura Atmanirbhar in Fisheries and working relentlessly to transform Tripura into a Fisheries Hub of the North East. He appreciated the role of the employees in the Fisheries sector for this feat.
