Like every year, this year also town buses will run on 3 routes on Saptami, Ashtami and Navami of Durga Puja from 10 am to 6 pm. No fare will be collected from passengers on these buses. These routes are Ranirbazar to Battala and vice-versa, TRTC Krishnanagar Complex via Amtali to Sekerkot and vice-versa and Agartala Rail Station to MBB Airport via Battala, Radhanagar. The Chairman of the Corporation Abhijit Deb gave this information in a press conference at the Tripura Road Transport Corporation Complex in Krishnanagar yesterday. In the press conference, he said, keeping in view the needs of the people, a decision has been taken by the board of directors of the corporation to run buses on some new routes.
Chairman of the Corporation informed that during Puja days, this town bus service will run from Akhaura Integrated Checkpost to MBB Airport, TRTC Complex in Krishnanagar to Jampuijala via Old Motorstand, South Anandnagar, GB Hospital to Kamalasagar, Kasba Kalibari, Agartala Railway Station to Ashwini Market, Kailashahar to Kumarghat Railway Station, Dharmanagar to Khedachhera to Damchhera, Dharmanagar to Karimganj and Dharmanagar to Kailashahar. After Durga Puja, it is planned to re-run the buses on these routes in a phased manner. He hoped that TRTC’s plans to launch services on these routes would be implemented with the cooperation of people from all sections. He also said that the decision to consult Agartala Smart City Limited authorities for the development of Kunjaban TRTC Complex, Krishnanagar TRTC Complex and Battala TRTC Complex has also been taken by the board.
In the press conference, he said that the state government has been approached through the transport department for the approval of additional fund so that the employees of TRTC can get dearness allowance at the rate of 5 percent like Tripura state employees. Besides, a proposal has been sent to the State Government through the Department of Transport to cover accrued leave pay for employees of TRTC after retirement. Sri deb said it has been decided to model the Tripura Road Transport Corporation logo on the temple of Mother Tripureswari. TRTC Vice Chairman Samar Roy, Board of Director, Ashok Pal and Managing Director of TRTC, Subrata Chowdhury were present at the press conference.
