With the aim of celebrating the rich heritage and cultural identity of the state of Odisha, Utkal Diwas, which commemorates the formation of the state in 1936, was observed with grandeur and reverence in Tripura on Monday. The event, marked by a series of dignified ceremonies, took place under the auspices of Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, who inaugurated the program at the Muktodhara Auditorium and unveiled a commemorative plaque named ‘Chakadola’.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Nallu extolled the illustrious history and remarkable progress of Odisha, emphasizing its status as a hub of innovation across various domains, including industry, agriculture, and technology. He shed light on Odisha's rich educational infrastructure, renowned Odissi dance arts, iconic landmarks such as the Jagannath Temple in Puri, the Surya Temple in Konark, the picturesque Chilka Lake, and the verdant Shimli Pal National Park, among others.
Dr. SK Pratihari, Chief Patron of Odisha Samaj Tripura, also shared his insights during the event, expressing his admiration for Odisha's cultural heritage and making a generous contribution of Rs 20,000 towards purchasing books for the organization's library. Prof. RK Mohapatra, secretary of Oriya Samaj Tripura, presented a comprehensive report on the organization's activities, underscoring its commitment to preserving and promoting Odisha's cultural legacy.
The occasion also witnessed a warm welcome address delivered by Bishnucharan Pati, president of the organization, who extended greetings to all attendees. In addition to the formal proceedings, the celebration of Utkal Diwas featured captivating cultural programs at the auditorium, showcasing the vibrant traditions and artistic prowess of Odisha.
