Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha slammed CPI(M) and Congress on Monday, accusing them of creating division among the people and criticized their failure to undertake any development work in the state.

Dr. Saha said this while addressing a Lok Sabha campaign event for BJP candidate Kriti Singh Debbarma in Karbook, Gomati District.

“I pray to Mata Tripura Sundari to bless us so that Jati and Janajati can stay united to propel the state towards further development, and no one can sow division between us. We have witnessed the condition of Tripura for the last 35 years. It was pathetic and rife with tension. Since the BJP formed the government in Tripura, peace prevails. We have witnessed murder, bombings, and violence. We know who is responsible for this. Such incidents are now rare. BJP does not endorse violence,” said Dr. Saha.

Dr. Saha emphasized that PM Modi has consistently stressed that without developing the Northeast, India’s development would be incomplete.

He highlighted the launch of the Act East Policy and efforts to maintain peace in the Northeast.

“Nearly 11 accords have been signed since 2014. We also signed an agreement with Tipra Motha with the goal of maintaining peace. After this agreement, we have seen a surge in support. Earlier, IPFT was with us, and now Tipra Motha has joined. What will happen to CPI(M) and Congress now? They have always divided the people to rule the state and have never worked for development. Our PM Modi always talks about development and delivers on his promises. Our government is working towards making ‘Ek Tripura Srestha Tripura’,” said the Chief Minister.

He further emphasized that due to the improved law and order situation, investors are showing interest in Tripura.

“Without good law and order, development is not possible. With the improved law and order situation in Tripura, many investors are coming in. Earlier, we witnessed violence before and after elections, but in the 2023 Assembly election, not a single incident of violence occurred. People want peace, and our government is working towards it, earning people’s trust. CPI(M) and Congress have formed the INDI alliance, but they have lost ground and power. Only PM Modi can develop Janajati people,” he added.

During the program, Minister Tinku Roy, Shukla Charan Noatia, MLA Abhishek Debroy, Youth Leader Nabadal Banik and others were present.
