Tripura Theatre: Book on plays released

On the occasion of Mahalaya, the much awaited annual book of special and research articles on dramas titled "Tripura Theatre" was officially released in a ceremony held at the premises of Tripura theatre organization. The event featured a musical performance by the artists of the organization to welcome the guests.

Former Chief Justice of Odisha, Subhasis Talapatra unveiled the book during the event. The event was also attended by president of the organization Bibhu Bhattacharjee, secretary, Kamal Majumder and eminent drama personalities of the state like Shishir Deb, Sanjay Kar, Partha Majumder, Padmakumari Chakma, Anurima Sen, and Kartik Banik.

While welcome address was given by organization’s secretary Majumdar president Bhattacharjee provided detailed insights into the playbook, followed by reflections from various dignitaries.

Justice Talapatra discussed various aspects of the "Tripura Theatre" publication and shared insights on renowned playwrights like Utpal Dutta and Manoj Mitra. He also praised the initiative and urged its continuity for the enrichment of local culture.   The programme was conducted by Sekhar C Datta.
