The Tripura unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) observed ‘Samarpan Diwas’ on Sunday at the party headquarters to honour the 55th death anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, a stalwart who championed the philosophy of ‘Integral Humanism’.

State BJP President Rajib Bhattacharjee, alongside other party office bearers, paid homage to the revered leader by laying floral tributes and reflecting on his remarkable life and contributions to humanity.

Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay played a crucial role in promoting the ideology of ‘Integral Humanism,’ countering the prevailing concepts of Marxism and Leninism. His leadership extended to serving as the general secretary of the BJP in Uttar Pradesh, and later, he served as the national president of Jana Sangh in December 1967. Upadhyay’s monthly magazine, Rashtra Dharma, significantly contributed to the spread and strengthening of the concept of Hindutva.

After offering floral tributes, Bhattacharjee underscored the enduring influence of Pandit Upadhyay’s visionary ideas and principles, emphasizing their role in inspiring BJP members to contribute towards societal betterment.

Furthermore, Bhattacharjee highlighted the transformative initiatives undertaken by the party under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which have positively impacted society and facilitated overall development.

He reiterated the commitment of the state government to align with the central government’s efforts in ensuring inclusive development, emphasizing the belief that the nation’s progress is intricately linked to the upliftment of every individual in society.

The ‘Samarpan Diwas’ served as a poignant reminder of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s enduring legacy and his profound influence on the BJP’s ideology and approach towards governance, with his principles continuing to guide the party in its endeavours to serve the people.
