Gomati District Hospital is set for a significant upgrade, with the state government initiating plans to address its infrastructural gaps and improve healthcare services. Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, accompanied by Health Secretary Kiran Gitte, MLA Abhishek Debroy, and other officials, inspected the hospital on Saturday, followed by a detailed review meeting.
Speaking to the media, the Finance Minister emphasized that the Gomati District Hospital often faces an additional burden as it caters to both Gomati and South Tripura districts. To alleviate pressure on GBP Hospital, the state’s primary referral hospital, the government is focused on strengthening district and sub-divisional hospitals.
The inspection highlighted areas for development to ensure improved healthcare delivery. Plans are being formulated to address these challenges, including upgrading infrastructure and enhancing services.
The team also visited Udaipur Sub-Divisional Hospital to assess its current condition. A meeting was held to discuss strategies for overall improvement in medical services.
In a social media post, the Finance Minister underlined the importance of robust district and sub-divisional hospitals in creating an efficient healthcare system. Strengthening these facilities, he noted, is crucial to ensuring equitable and quality healthcare for all residents.
The state government’s efforts mark a critical step toward transforming regional healthcare infrastructure.
