Punjab Police Nab 547 Drug Smugglers in Major Crackdown

In Punjab, continuing with its campaign to make a drug-free State, Punjab Police arrested 547 drug smugglers in the last five days.

The operation ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh, ’ which has entered its fifth day, was being conducted in all the districts yesterday. Many houses of the drug smugglers made illegally from the drug money have also been raised in many districts. Heroin, opium and intoxicant tablets in large numbers have also been confiscated during the raids

Special DGP Law and Order, Arpit Shukla, said the state has enforced a three-pronged strategy- Enforcement, Deaddiction and Prevention (EDP)- to eradicate drugs from the state. It has also organised over 150 drug-awareness events across the State on Wednesday as part of The revention
