Priyanka holds road show in Agartala

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra led an extensive road show spanning over 20 kilometers from the Agartala airport to the heart of Agartala on Tuesday in support of the INDI bloc candidates in the state. Followed by supporters, Priyanka Gandhi in her speech focussed mainly on the critical role of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in ‘safeguarding democracy and preserving the principles enshrined in the ‘constitution’.
Addressing a gathered crowd at the culmination of the road show, Priyanka Gandhi outlined the Congress party's vision and commitment to addressing pressing issues facing the nation. She presented a manifesto promising significant initiatives should the Congress come to power at the Center. Key highlights of the manifesto included pledges to generate 30 lakhs new jobs, ensure fair minimum support prices for farmers, provide Rs one lakh annually to women, allocate land to the landless, and offer free education up to the 12th standard for children.
The road show was as expected impressive as Priyanka Gandhi visited the state for the first time, with supporters from both Congress and CPI-M turning out in large numbers.
Accompanying Priyanka Gandhi were leaders including Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman, state Congress president Asish Kumar Saha- also West Tripura Parliamentary seat candidate, former state presidents Birajit Sinha and Gopal Roy, as well as CPI-M state Secretary Jitendra Choudhury.
Roy Barman highlighted the ‘nationwide traction gained by INDIA bloc candidates’, expressing confidence in their ability to secure victories across the country.
Priyanka Gandhi's visit to Tripura followed a similar road show in Assam, where she campaigned for party candidate Gaurav Gogoi in Jorhat district before returning to Delhi later in the evening.
State Congress President Asish Kumar Saha, is gearing up for an electoral battle in the Tripura West Lok Sabha constituency against BJP candidate Biplab Kumar Deb, former Chief Minister and incumbent Rajya Sabha member. The upcoming polling in Tripura West, is scheduled for the first phase of voting on April 19.
