During a Lok Sabha election campaign in support of the INDIA Bloc-backed Lok Sabha elections candidate for the East Tripura Parliamentary Constituency, Rajendra Reang, CPI(M) leader Pabitra Kar called upon citizens to unite under the banner of the ‘INDIA Bloc’ to unseat the incumbent BJP government from the center.

Speaking at the campaign event held at Fatikroy market under Kumarghat Sub-division on Monday, Kar invoked the spirit of India’s independence movement, urging citizens to draw inspiration from the historic alliance between Congress and Communist leaders, led by Mahatma Gandhi, who fought unitedly to liberate India from British rule. He emphasized the need for a similar alliance of political ideologies to restore democracy in the country.

Pabitra Kar, also the State Secretary of All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS), warned of the consequences of allowing the Bharatiya Janata Party to retain power, cautioning that citizens’ rights, including the right to free speech, would be curtailed under their governance.

Reflecting on the state’s political landscape, Kar highlighted the contrast between Tripura’s prosperity under Left Front governance and the perceived decline in essential services since the BJP assumed power in 2018. He underscored the importance of holding the BJP accountable for any shortcomings in governance and urged voters to consider the implications of their choices in the upcoming elections.

The rally witnessed the presence of local leaders from the CPI(M) and Pradesh Congress committee, signaling a united front against the incumbent BJP government and reaffirming the commitment to advancing the interests of the people of Tripura through collaborative efforts under the ‘INDIA Bloc’ platform.
