Khelo India scheme implemented to promote sports like Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Wrestling & Football: Sports Ministry

The Sports Ministry today informed that to promote sports including games like Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Wrestling, and Football in the country several schemes including the Khelo India scheme are being implemented in the Country.

In a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya informed that besides Khelo India- National Programme for Development of Sports, schemes like assistance to National Sports Federations, special Awards to Winners in International Sports Events and their Coaches and National Sports Awards being implemented in the country.

Dr Mandaviya informed that pension to Meritorious Sportspersons, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay National Welfare Program for Sportspersons, National Sports Development Fund and running of Sports Training Centres through Sports Authority of India being implemented in the country.
