The Trinamool Congress party on Friday cdemnded that State Eelection Commission set up a fact-finding of the total vote cast as the party felt the turn out -81.54 per cent was erroneous.
In a press conference on Friday morning the TMC leader Rajib Banerjee and Subal Bhowmnik had alleged of large scale of booth capturing and said, “the TMC challenges the SEC over the genuine turnout of voters in the municipal poll. We urge upon the SEC to conduct a neutral survey visiting every wards of the Municipal Council of the state and find out if any voters were missed out from polling and confirm if they have ink mark on their fingers.”
“There has been a large scale of booth capturing in most of the civic bodies and a large section of voters were restricted from casting their vote,” alleging this Banerjee said, “The voters along with our candidates had to face threatening and attacks by the saffron brigades.”
He alleged, “Earlier under the rule of Left front, we had seen the poll turning into farce and large scale of violence, but this time the BJP government had broken all records and made a mockery of election and trampled upon the rights of people during the Municipal Council poll.”
The TMC leader had stated that the BJP government had grossly violated the directives of the Supreme Court on Thursday and turned the entire polling into farce.
