Trinamool Congress (TMC) will observe Khela Hobe Diwas in block level on August 16 next, a leader said on Friday.

TMC leader Santanu Sen, who arrived in the state on Friday, said that more leaders from West Bengal would arrive in the state to take part in the party programme.

He said that discussions were already held with the party leaders in different blocks for strengthening the organization.

“All booths of the state will have TMC organizations very soon. We already had talks with the block-level leaders and organizational matters were discussed. Our fight will continue to go on,” Sen told the media.

Local TMC leaders Ashish Lal Singh and Subal Bhowmik were also present.

Meanwhile, Youth Congress working president Santanu Saha among 30 Congressmen joined Trinamool Congress (TMC) in the city on Friday.

Some of the West Bengal TMC leaders including Bratya Basu, Santanu Sen and Aparupa Poddar, who arrived in the state on Friday, welcomed the Congress workers to their party.

In the joining programme, Basu alleged that the TMC was not given permission to hold a party programme citing Covid norms but the ruling BJP was allowed to hold the protest rallies.

Basu said such joining programmes would continue to go on in the state and the results of 2021 polls in West Bengal would be reflected in Tripura in the 2023 elections.

“Such joining programmes in small pockets will continue to go on and we will hold a rally with at least 10,000 party workers in near future. The BJP state and central leaders are fearing the TMC’s surge and I think they are right because the results of the 2021 West Bengal polls will be reflected in 2023 Tripura elections,” Basu told the media.

He also alleged that the BJP was misusing the police and administration out of fear.“The TMC workers are being attacked, their vehicles are being vandalized and false cases are being registered against them. These are being done by the ruling BJP by misusing the police and administration,” he said in the joining programme.
