Senior state TMC leaders MP Susmita Dev, party president Subal Bhowmik and others  led the candidates for the submission of their nomination papers.

MP Susmita Dev who accompanied the TMC candidates for the submission of the nomination papers said, “The TMC is the only alternate party to the ruling BJP and it is also the only party which can bring a change to the misrule of the BJP government.”

“We shall contest this by elections moving in line with the way we battled during the last municipal election in Tripura,” Dev said and appealed to the people to vote for the congress and bring a change in Tripura.

There are indications that some of the top leaders of the TMC from Kolkata may come here to participate in the electioneering process, especially in campaigning.

The TMC leaders said, people of the state were fed up with the BJP rule and in this by polls they will give befitting reply to the ruling party.

“It is a run up for the assembly elections of 2023. In this elections people’s mood and mandate will reflect the rejection of the BJP in Tripura”, said a senior TMC leader.
