In a significant move towards fostering self-reliance in Tripura, the Tripura Industrial Development Corporation (TIDC) has unveiled a pioneering initiative designed to empower unemployed youth by encouraging them to establish industries within the state. Nabadal Banik, Chairman of TIDC, made this announcement on Friday, outlining the comprehensive plan aimed at boosting economic prospects and creating entrepreneurial opportunities for the state’s young population.
Under this groundbreaking initiative, TIDC plans to register a minimum of 100 interested youths aged between 18 to 45 from each district within Tripura. Registration will be conducted through the District Industries Centre. Furthermore, an informative exposure visit to Bodhjangnagar and R K Nagar industrial estates will be arranged for these individuals. The purpose of this visit is to provide a firsthand understanding of the recent industrial infrastructure developments in the state and the various related facilities available.
Chairman Banik stated, “This visit will be arranged to give a clear idea to the youths about the recent industrial infrastructure development of the state and various related facilities.” As part of this special initiative, these interested youths will be introduced to various projects linked to state and central government credit programs.
“In a priority fashion, all these youths will be provided assistance in setting up industries through various self-employment schemes and projects. They will also be informed about the procedures for obtaining loans and will be directly connected with banks for seamless access to financial support,” Chairman Banik affirmed.
Furthermore, these aspiring entrepreneurs will be educated and informed about opportunities in the import and export business and the logistics sector, broadening their horizons in the world of commerce and trade.
The Chairman also revealed that substantial investments totaling Rs. 68.80 crore have been made in the industrial estates of the state during the last six months. Operational industries are generating approximately Rs. 30 lakh in revenue each month, reflecting the positive impact of these efforts on Tripura’s economic landscape.
This initiative by TIDC seeks to empower the youth of Tripura but also holds the potential to stimulate economic growth and self-reliance, setting a remarkable example for sustainable development in the region.
