Three fisherman in Dambur lake died and one more is believed to be dead following a thunderstorm that struck various parts of Tripura, including Dhalai and Gomati districts last night .  Body of one fisherman has been recovered while three others are still reported missing. NDRF has been pressed into action and a massive search operation was launched in the lake.While oe fisherman’s body was found on Sunday mring the NDRF teaaam  recovered two other bodies in th noon. 

One fishermn was still reported missing.

The fishermen dead were identified as Jatish Mallik, Pradip Das and  Hari das and they were all resident of Daspar of Gandacherra.

The four fishermen went to the vast and hugely deep lake for night fishing when all of a sudden the storm struck with massive wind. Their pontoon collapsed and they drowned.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha expressed his condolences for the loss of the fishermen and directed relevant authorities to intensify search and rescue efforts. He also assured affected residents of government assistance in the wake of the storm.

The thunderstorm, which hit the state around 10:00 PM, caused extensive damage to several districts, including Sepahijala, Khowai, and South Tripura.

Besides the tragic incident in Dumbur Lake, reports reaching here from various parts of the state also indicated huge destructions of properties as thatched huts crumbled, trees uprooted and power services got
