In a tragic incident three labourers died of asphyxia when they went down to clean a septic tank at Tinghariam in Ampi.
Villagers said, all of the deceased belong to Jamatia community but could not confirm their names yet. They were hired by one Surjya Jamatia of Madhyapara, Tingharia in Ampi. to clean the septic tank.
The incident happened when one of the labourers went down the deep pit and did not come out. Then another one went down and he also did not come out or respond. It was then the third labourer went down to the pit to check but he also remained silent. Then the alarm was raised and villagers gathered only to find that three bodies were lying in the pit in an abnormal postures. Immediately Fire Service was called and the firemen brought the bodies- all dead by then. Doctors at Amarpur said they died of asphyxia inside the septic pit.
