In view of the increasing incidents of theft and robbery in the capital state police embarked upon an air tight security arrangements across the city and its periphery. The police actions came following Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha’s review of the situation and subsequent orders.
Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha reviewed the security matters following a rise in theft.
An official statement relating to the police measures said while a special investigation team has been formed to look into the recent cases of theft and robbery- which has been tasked to quick investigation and detention of the offenders-night patrolling have also been intensified. All Naka points in and around Agartala City have been activated throughout the night. Every vehicle along with papers would be checked at night in Naka points.
Deployment of police, TSR and SPOs has been enhanced at police stations in Agartala city at night time.
Enhanced patrolling through Beat patrolling and night mobile is being carried out in the sensitive pockets in and around Agartala city.
Village defence parties have been activated in sensitive pockets and necessary assistance from the police side would be provided.
Close watch on the habitual offenders and scrap dealers is being maintained. Necessary legal action is being taken against the habitual offenders.
The police are keeping a close watch on Bus Stands and Railways Stations.
Besides, senior-level police officers are entrusted to supervise for effective policing in and around Agartala city.
Patrolling of ERSS mobile vehicles is being extended to sensitive pockets for enhancement of police presence in Agartala city.
The Tripura Police has also appealed to the public to inform police by dialling ‘112’ in case of any suspicious movement or information of any suspected person.
Efforts of Police to identify the miscreants and to arrest them who are involved in such incidents is continuing and is being monitored regularly at senior levels, the press release said.
