As many as 179 Post-Graduate Teachers were given postings on Wednesday, said Education Minister Ratan lal Nath. Among them 43 Economics teachers, 46 Sociology teachers, 41 Psychology teachers and 49 Geography teachers.
ON TET qualified youths’ recruitment the minister informed the media that some days ago, 196 among 256 candidates, who qualified TET-I, accepted the offers as on October 18, the last date of submission of offers.
In case of TET-II (Graduate Teachers), 258 candidates were given offers but 247 among them had accepted the offers till Tuesday, the last day for submission of the offers. According to Nath, some candidates might have qualified both the TET-I and TET-II. In that case, they accepted the offers either for TET-I or TET-II.
He said, the Education department recently issued advertisements regarding recruitment of 3108 teachers—757 TET-I and 2351 TET-II. The verification would take place on October 26,27 and 28 and then the Education department would issue offers, Nath said.
The TET qualified teachers were demanding that they all should be given appoint at one go- which the government accepted. It is expected with the appointment of the new teachers the severe scarcity of the teachers in the state schools would now be addressed to a great extent.
Replying to a query on 10,323 issue, the Education minister said, “After High Court and Supreme Court, I have nothing to do in this matter. I don’t want to pass any comment on this.”
He also expressed hope that many of the sacked teachers who participated in the JRBT-conducted examination would be recruited.
