Rashtriya Poshan Maah aims to bring those young children and adolescent girls from different parts of the country suffering from malnutrition under the nutrition program. Pregnant women and lactating mothers are being brought under the nutrition program. Rashtriya Poshan Maah is implemented every year from September 1 till 30. It is being implemented in our state as well, enunciated Social Welfare & Social Education Minister Santana Chakma after inaugurating State-Level Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2022 at Rabindra Bhawan today. She said, children, it is ensured under this program that adolescent girls, pregnant women and lactating mothers suffering from malnutrition get proper nutrition. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the Abhiyan to free the country from malnutrition.
SW&SE Minister also said, children are the country’s future. Proper health of pregnant women and lactating mothers will ensure healthy and strong child. That is why the central government has launched such Abhiyan. She said, our work must not be limited in between just Poshan Maah and Poshan Abhiyan. During the implementation of the Abhiyan, we have to make sure that the beneficiaries living in remote areas of the state are not neglected from getting benefits of Poshan Abhiyan. Sabhadhipati of West Tripura Zilla Parishad Antara Sarkar Deb said, Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2022 is being implemented in the state in festive mood along with the entire country. She hoped for the success of the Abhiyan. Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder said, Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyan is an important program to eradicate malnutrition from the society. He emphasized upon proper implementation of the program. Social worker Papiya Dutta also spoke on the occasion. Welcome speech was delivered by Director of SW&SE department Dr. Sidharth Shiv Jaiswal. Vote of thanks was delivered by Deputy Director of SW&SE department L. Ranchal.
A colourful rally was organized in Agartala on the occasion of Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2022 inauguration. The rally started from Umakanta Academy premises, moved around different parts of the city and ended at Rabindra Bhawan premises. SW&SE Minister Santana Chakma, Sabhadhipati of West Tripura Zilla Parishad Antara Sarkar Deb, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder, Director of SW&SE department Dr. Sidharth Shiv Jaiswal, other officials of the department and Anganwadi workers have participated in the rally.
