Minister for Transport Sushanta Chowdhury has formally written to the Union Minister of Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw, advocating for the inclusion of Belonia railway station as a stop for the Kanchanjunga Express. Following the recent extension of the express train service from Agartala to Sabroom in South Tripura, there has been a strong appeal from the residents of Belonia sub-division to facilitate convenient access via the railway network.

In his correspondence, Chowdhury expressed sincere appreciation for the extension of the Kanchanjunga Express, emphasizing its significant enhancement of state-wide connectivity and the heightened convenience it provides to passengers. He underscored that a stop at Belonia would serve as a crucial link, greatly benefiting the residents of Belonia Sub-Division by improving their connectivity to other parts of Tripura and beyond. This strategic addition, according to Chowdhury, would not only streamline operations but also optimize the utilization of rail resources in the region.

Concluding his letter, Chowdhury earnestly urged the Railway Minister to give serious consideration to the proposal, citing its potential to greatly enhance transportation accessibility and facilitate smoother travel experiences for both local residents and visitors to the area.
