Sudip Roy Barman and Asish Saha reached Tripura on Saturday after re-joining Congress in New Delhi recently. They were accompanied by among others like PCC president Birajit Sinha , former minister Gopal Roy and  Tripura in charge Ajay Kumar.

Roy Barman’s followers held a bike rally as the former BJP  minister’s jeep passed through his constituency..

After their arrival Roy Barman, Saha and other Congress leaders including PCC president Birajit Sinha, Ajay Kumar et al addressed a gathering in front Congress Bhawan at Post Office Chowmuhani where their supporters from across the state assembled. Former Chief Minister Samir Ranjan Barman and father of Roy Barman was also present on the dias.

All the speakers expressed their hope that this time the Congress got a fillip wth the joining of Roy Barman and Saha and the party would not be able add steam in its political activities.

Both Roy Barman and Saha in their speech criticized the BJP government for anti -people activities and spoke with a tinge of emotion – for being deprived of their dues in the party and also for being sidelined. Their main target remained Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb. Both of them claimed that in the next assembly elections Congress would form the government.

Roy Barman in his speech also warned that the Congress workers from now would retaliate and give answer as tit for tat in case any attack was committed on them. He also appealed Congress workers to stand by the side of the CPM in case of any assault.

The gathering of Congress workers from all over the state was good but not as huge as it was expected by the Congress leaders.
