On Monday at Maharaja Bir Bikram College (MBB) in Agartala, a second-year student, Kharang Debbarma, sustained injuries following a violent clash among students affiliated with the Tipra Students’ Federation (TSF) and the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). Debbarma is currently receiving treatment at GB Hospital.
The incident reportedly occurred during the ongoing admission process at the college. The TSF has condemned the attack on its member and criticized the college administration’s response. Speaking to reporters after meeting the principal, a TSF leader said, “We strongly condemn such violence in a college which holds a great reputation in the entire state.” The TSF representatives also alleged that the college administration failed to take any visible action regarding the incident.
In response, the principal of MBB College, addressing the reporters, stated, “I am unaware of what happened but will make sure that action is taken against the accused persons.”
