A State-Level Mock Drill on earthquake preparedness will be conducted across the state on October 20 with the initiative of the Revenue department. This mock drill will be conducted in more than 40 places of eights districts of the state. A table top session was held today at Video Conference Hall, Secretariat by National Disaster Management Authority. National Disaster Management Authority’s Advisor Retired Major General Sudhir Bhel reviewed the matter related to the state-level mock drill program with the concerned District Disaster Management Authority of eight districts via video conferencing. Special emphasis was given upon always staying alert and prepared during the earthquake, on proper plan implementation and on staying updated about all kinds of information. He said, everyone’s cooperation is important while protecting lives and assets during natural disasters.
He advised the Incidence Response Team to always stay alert on duty in state and district levels. Principal Secretary of Revenue department Punit Agarwal highlighted different plans and initiatives of the state government and different matters on management in the beginning of the table top session.
State Project Officer of Tripura State Disaster Management Authority Dr. Sarat Das discussed state disaster management plan and information related to earthquake preparedness. Power Point Presentations were shown on behalf of Health and Power departments on plans and preparedness during disaster. Additional Secretary of Revenue department Anindya Bhattacharjee, officials of NDRF, BSF, Indian Army, CRPF, CISF and administrative officials of different concerned departments were present during the table top session. District level plans and information related to preparedness in eight districts during disaster management were discussed.
