Before the ensuing Lok Sabha elections the state government is contemplating a 5% Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees. The decision on this matter is expected to be made soon, either in the next cabinet meeting or the subsequent one. If the state government does decide to implement a 5% DA increase, it would bring the total DA for state government employees to 25%. However, even with this increase, there would still be a notable gap of 22% between the state DA and the central DA.
