In Sri Lanka, days after appointing the new cabinet, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake appointed 29 deputy ministers from his ruling National People’s Power. Earlier on Monday, a 21 member cabinet was sworn in by the President in what has been termed as a relatively small cabinet in the last few decades. The constitution allows for appointing a maximum of 30 cabinet ministers and 40 deputy ministers.
