Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat inaugurated a unique ‘Space Exploration Gallery’ today. This gallery is in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. It is the first of its kind in the country. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav was also present at the event. The gallery has been set up at the Regional Science Centre in Bhopal.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Shekhawat said it is a matter of great joy that Madhya Pradesh has made its own space policy. He credited this to the initiative of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. He said students will now be able to learn about space in great detail through this gallery.
The gallery has been built by the National Council of Science Museums. It got technical support from the Nehru Science Centre in Mumbai. Its aim is to make science popular among people. It also aims to promote scientific thinking.
The gallery uses modern digital technology. It shows information about the universe and India’s space missions. This includes India’s ancient knowledge traditions, as well as achievements like Aryabhatta, Chandrayaan and Gaganyaan.
Visitors can also experience a space walk and a flight simulator here. They can view 3D surfaces of the moon and Mars. The gallery will be a special attraction for students, researchers and science lovers.
