The Skill Development Training Programme under the Mukhya Mantri Dhakyata Unnayan Prakalpa (MMDUP) was inaugurated at CIPET:CSTS-Agartala on Wednesday. This initiative aims to equip individuals with industry-relevant skills, fostering employability and economic growth in the region.
The launch event was graced by the MLA of Khayerpur Constituency, who underscored the pivotal role of skill development in improving livelihoods and catalyzing regional progress. The MLA emphasized that such initiatives not only enhance individual capabilities but also strengthen the local workforce and contribute to the state’s overall development.
Dr. Bishnu Prasad Koiry, Assistant Professor at Tripura University, also attended the event alongside officials from CIPET:CSTS-Agartala. Their presence highlighted the collaborative effort between academic institutions and government programs to address unemployment and skill gaps.
As part of this programme, 160 participants will undergo training in specialized fields, including Testing & Quality Control, Plastics Recycling, and CNC Lathe/Milling. These areas were strategically chosen to align with market demands, ensuring trainees gain practical knowledge and job-ready skills.
The MMDUP initiative reflects the government’s commitment to empowering the youth and boosting the local economy by creating skilled professionals. Beneficiaries of the programme are expected to secure meaningful employment and contribute to sustainable development in Tripura.
