Sewa International has begun a programme of pineapple cultivation for the economic improvement of Tripura farmers. In which over a hundred farmers will cultivate pineapple for three years. All necessary facilities will be supplied. This programme began in the Dhalai district of North Tripura. Sewa will also collaborate closely with farmers in other parts of the state.

Sewa International polled around 100 farmers in the Dhalai district of North Tripura. Sewa has begun work on pineapple growing in response to farmer requirements. This initiative was initiated in this episode. Abhishek Kumar, ED of Sewa International, told Tripura Times that the organization’s goal is to make society self-sufficient while also strengthening social work in the Northeast. Under this method, we are all working together. Our team will also supply farmers with training, as well as numerous institutions connected to pineapple cultivation and basic infrastructure. So that agricultural output can be increased. Along with it, adequate arrangements for preserving and storing Pineapple will be established. Such that farmers can preserve their harvests for longer than the limited time. In addition to this, we will provide arrangements to distinguish the harvest till it reaches the market so that farmers may get a fair price and sell their Pineapple conveniently.

Sanjeev, Projects Manager, Sewa International, Tripura, stated that we are now focusing on pineapple cultivation. At the same time, they are collaborating with farmers who practise fish culture. So far, the Sewa has aided more than 100 farmers in fish culture. They have supplied fish feed, farmer training, and so on. Today marks the beginning of activities in pineapple cultivation. Where we will give farmers training as well as high-quality pineapple plants. Sewa will also take after the farmers for the next three years. So that farmers can be economically empowered. And farmers in the Northeast should be confident in their crops, knowing that they will be paid fairly in the marketplace.
